salt

salt is volatile, impulsive and deeply self destructive. he feels everything too intensely but has no idea how to deal with it, so most of his emotions come out as anger or just complete avoidance. he grew up in a hostile environment where anger was a normal part of everyday life, so he learned to meet conflict with even more conflict. over time aggression became less of a choice and more of a reflex. if he feels cornered, he bites back.

he has a habit of turning every problem into something bigger. he says things he doesnt mean just to get a reaction and then hates himself for it afterwards. constantly sabotaging his own relationships, convinced they will fall apart eventually anyway.

despite how detached he acts, salt is deeply insecure. he constantly worries that people secretly dislike him, are planning to leave him or only tolerate him out of pity. he hides those fears behind arrogance, sarcasm and a short temper. he would rather start a fight than admit he is hurt. most of his worst actions come from fear, anger, and panic rather than cruelty. unfortunately that doesnt stop those actions from hurting people.

bio

salt lived with june in an abandoned house on the edge of a small rural town. the two were almost completely isolated from everyone else. their relationship was intense, messy, and often unhealthy. they argued constantly, broke up and got back together repeatedly, and spent years trapped in the same cycle of loving and resenting each other. neither of them were happy, but neither of them could leave either.

one night, another argument escalated further than usual. a gun went off. salt didnt stay to help, he didnt call anyone. he ran. june died

whether it was fear, panic, guilt or all three, he left the house and never came back. june's body remained where it fell as the house slowly rotted around it. years passed, and salt never returned to see what became of her. he spent the rest of his life avoiding the town entirely, refusing to talk about what happened and pretending he could leave it behind if he ignored it long enough.
